Are you sitting for this? Not? Well sit! If you are sitting already and wanted to get up, you may as well take a walk. It doesn’t matter. This article is nothing if not a whole lot of ‘reportedly’ and ‘speculation’ because ultimately you’ll make up your minds about what I’m about to say.
Didier Drogba, the blue assassin, is making the rounds with Arsenal it would seem. Let me start you off with some background music, for those of you that know already, skip to the next paragraph and engage once more in reading. Right, you still here so it means that you’ve been kept in the dark about Drogba. Well, reports are coming from The Sun today that the 34 year old striker is unhappy at Shanghai Shenua due to a wage dispute among the owners. Simply put, his massive wages aren’t buying him much because he isn’t getting any. So everyone is linking him with a move back to European football in January with Juventus, Real Madrid, Liverpool and yes of course, Arsenal, in the picture. Basically, if you a football club and need a striker, check the headlines, you might find your name linked to the player.
Arsenal are however linked to Drogba, but I say, even if that was true(which speculation dictates a 50% chance that’s its false) then why oh why, would we want him? He’s old, an ex Chelsea player, and his wages will probably come to that of the entire team combined. Frankly, Drogba was once quality, but apparently not good enough to stay on with Chelsea, a team we hoping to topple from the top of the table so would someone explain why we should get their sloppy seconds?
Shanghai Shenua can keep Drogba. In fact, he’s welcome to move anywhere. Just don’t link him to the Emirates, its not going to work, because when it comes down to it, we’re better than that.
