Fit again Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby has acknowledged the contribution of manager Arsene Wenger in helping him maintain his confidence levels. Wenger hailed Diaby’s talent earlier in the week and in response the French midfielder was quoted by Arsenal’s website as saying, “That makes me feel confident – it is always nice to have the confidence of the manager.
He went on to add, “My main target this season is to be fit and if I am then everything will be good for me.”
The Robin van Persie saga aside, the Gunners seem to be making all the right moves prior to the start of the new season, by bringing in players such as Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud. Moreover, with players such as Diaby coming back to full fitness, the squad really seems to be taking shape.
However, one does feel that Diaby will perhaps struggle to get back into the playing eleven, especially since the duo of Alex Song and Mikel Arteta played exceptionally well during the course of last season. On top of that, the 26-year old will also need to maintain his fitness levels, something that will be easier said than done, especially since he has played only 26 games over the course of last two seasons.

The sooner Arsenal get rid of Diaby, the better. He is lazy and doesn’t have much footballing skills.
