In what will be looked back upon as Andre Santos most stupid action to date, our defender has been charged with dangerous driving. Remember when this story broke out? First we were led to believe that Santos sped like a F1 driver just because he was late for training. Then reports came out saying that he was just pulled over for driving a little fast-which we believed because Santos told us. The media was slated for exaggerating the story.
So now, he’s been charged with reckless driving which was clocked at 130mph at 8:30am. A little fast? Man, can you imagine if Santos released a statement he was actually speeding? How do you even go that fast in morning traffic? He was driving a car, right? So how? How? Santos says he was late for training. Okay and? Does Arsene Wenger take out the old whip and register some late arrival lashes to players who arrive in a tardy manner?
We’ll find out Santos’s fate on the 27th September and I for one will interested to hear what happens. I think the entire Arsenal fan base has remained silent about this because it all seems unreal. Or maybe people think he’ll just buy his way out of a potential 2 year jail sentence or that it just isn’t that serious. We do realize he isn’t getting charged in Malawi, right? This is the real deal that could cost the club having to rethink a suitable LB if the player is charged to the full extent.
On the bright side for Santos though, he didn’t hurt anyone by driving erratically. Perhaps if the football thing doesn’t work out he could always look for a job as a racing car driver.
