Caen president has alerted Arsenal about their chase for young striker M’Baye Niang by claiming that the player has received attention and interest from Italy and several English Premier League clubs.
Arsenal had lodged a bid for the 17-year-old few days back but it was rejected immediately as President Jean-Francois Fortin feels the value was not good enough.
The French under21 international appeared 30 times for Caen last season and has scored five goals but couldn’t save the club from getting relegated.
He had trials earlier this year with Arsenal and has impressed everyone at the club. Arsenal are heavily interested in him and Wenger especially wants him as a back- up striker in the team.
Forlin however, insisted that there are several interested parties apart from Arsenal who are looking forward to capturing the player’s signature and is hopeful that the issue to be resolved within the next fortnight.
“Arsenal made me a propostition,” the President was quoted while speaking to L’Equipe.
“Other clubs are interested: two in England and one in Italy. I think there will be an issue here for a fortnight.”
