Arsenal have set their sight on Spanish winger Santi Cazorla who is also a long time transfer target of Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are resigned to lose Luka Modric and new manager Andre Villas-Boas had lined up Cazorla to replace him. However, according to AS, the Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is equally interested about the Spanish international and mulling over a move for the player.
The former Villarreal man who can play at both the wings would fit into the Arsenal squad nicely as Wenger is looking to bolster his squad in the summer.
Contract-rebel Theo Walcott’s future is still uncertain and if he chose to depart, then the Spaniard could straight away walk into the side.
Moreover, he would be available for less than £16.5m which Malaga paid for him last summer.
Malaga despite being cash fuelled by Qatari investors find themselves in some sort of crisis are looking to sell some of their players who are enjoying high salaries. Villarreal has reported to UEFA over non-payment of a piece of Cazorla’s transfer fee.
He could be a great addition for Arsenal who are also eyeing for Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente.
