Arsenal set to lose out on another potential player to Manchester United

Well as the title suggests, quite a sickening notion although this is just a rumour at present, but it seems as though another player linked to us and who has been on our radar for some months, in that of Peruvian international Juan Manuel Vargas, as it appears that Manchester United are set to bid £10 million on him, and try to sign him from Fiorentina

I mean either this has got to be a sick joke, or a sick decision by Arsene Wenger not to pursue this player, he is talented, can take on players, he can score goals, and at £10 million would be a bargain signing by Arsene Wenger, at that low price surely if Manchester United can see his potential then why not Arsenal, or more importantly Arsene Wenger?

Vargas is 28 years old, so not young in that respect but young enough still, he’s experienced and would be an ideal signing, but once again if he leaves Fiorentina, you will have to question either the Arsenal scouting team or Arsene himself who insists on keeping players in that position who are not good enough – Arshavin, and could replace Arshavin with this signing and what a signing he would be to get rid of the lazy ruskie, but we all know Wenger will defend Arshavin to the end and will not get rid,.

As I say this is just rumour at the minute, but with only 10 days now until the end of the transfer window, I think most of us have resigned to the fact that Henry was indeed the smokescreen to appease fans as the club were not going to buy anyone, despite all knowledge that the team are not good enough or strong enough or show any creativity to compete this season once again – deja vu of last January anyone, and what happened after that when it was common knowledge we needed strengthening?
