There a few positions in the Arsenal team that we need to add too and although a lot of talk has been for out-field players arriving in the final few days of this window, not much has been said about the lack of quality we have in the goalkeeping department. And with the news Birmingham are selling Jack Butland on the cheap, we should swoop in and take him off their hands.
There is no doubt that Wojciech Szczesny is going to develop into an outstanding keeper and will become one of the world’s best, but if he gets injured or suspended we have no good options behind him and we need to add.
Vito Mannone and Lukasz Fabianski are ok, but the defence do not look at all comfortable with having either of them between the sticks.
So with Birmingham in financial trouble and looking to offload their top stars, young Butland has been put on the transfer market and is available for a measly £3 million.
He is regarded as a future England number one and is already showing the kind of potential and ability that will make him one of the world’s best stoppers.
Young, gifted, talented and an absolute steal at £3 million; Arsene Wenger shouldn’t miss the opportunity to snap the lad up.
