Arsenal skipper Thomas Vermaelen is delighted with the fact the return of right back Bacary Sagna and midfielder Jack Wilshere will give manager Arsene Wenger plenty of options while choosing a strong line-up in future.
Sagna returned to the squad after six months injury lay off and as usual looked rock solid at the back. His deputy, Carl Jenkinson has done a very good job in his absence and Arsenal skipper believes, the presence of both the players will only improve the squad depth.
Speaking to Arsenal player, he says “It’s good that the boss now has choices, a lot of choices because Bacary is coming back and he still has Carl Jenkinson who did a great job at the beginning of the season. It’s good that the boss has [these] choices and the squad is getting bigger.”
The defender was quick to praise youngster Jack Wilshere, who played over more than an hour on Saturday against QPR, saying the 20-year-old is an ‘amazing’ talent.
He added “I think he can be one of the best midfielders in the world because what he did in his first year was great.”
“And you could see he looked sharp. In midfield he was a lot on the ball and he can only get better in the following games and he can grow. What I’ve seen today is really positive.”
