Arsenal have seen that Liverpool and Chelsea are chasing their in-form star The Walcott and plan on making one more attempt to sort out his contract situation before the winter transfer window opens.
His current deal runs out in seven months and he is free to talk to anybody that he desires, so the gunners are keen to wrap up a new deal in the next few weeks and keep one of the clubs best performers at the club.
Boss Arsene Wenger has been talking to the Daily Mail about the situation and said: “I believe he is doing very well,’ said Wenger.’I haven’t changed my mind on him. I always said I wanted to keep him. We try to find an agreement. We haven’t found it yet. But he doesn’t play like someone who wants to leave and I don’t behave like someone who wants him to go”
Many fans do not like the idea Of Walcott leaving either in January or in the summer and they are all keen for Wenger to wrap up the deal as soon as possible. And the star himself clearly does not want to leave the club that gave him his opportunity at the big time as a teenager and he also spoke to the Daily Mail.
He Said: ‘I’m just continuing to play my football and I’m letting Arsenal and my agents deal with all that side of the thing.
‘I enjoy playing at this club, like I said before and hopefully something can get sorted out.’
So with the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool waiting in the wings to snap up the star as soon as the opportunity arises, then the Gunners and Walcott will need to sort out some kind of agreement to keep him here very soon.
