We are in the market for a top-quality striker to come in and do the job of finding the back of the net on a regular basis as Olivier Giroud has failed to do so enough since he arrived in the summer. And according to reports we were linked with a move for Athletic Bilbao forward Fernando Llorente when the January transfer window opens.
However, the player himself has stated that he would be open to a move to the Premier League, but not until next summer when his contract runs out.
Speaking on Revista de La Liga, the Spain international said he is a big fan of English football and would be open to offers of a switch to the Premier League.
“It is true that we are approaching the date when I can sign for other clubs,” Llorente said.
“I’m trying to keep it so that it is something which is managed by my brother and my representatives. That leaves me to focus in my football and help my team, Athletic, and nothing else, maintain focus.
“I really like the Premier League and I’ve mentioned on more than one occasion that it’s a league which appeals to me a lot.
“You never know. It’s one good option in terms of my future but we’ll have to wait until the end of the season to see what happens.” As quoted in the Daily Mail.
Though the idea of getting him for nothing in the summer is very appealing, we are in need of a striker now and would of loved him to show up at the Emirates and been the target man that we are looking for.
But it seems that his club will now allow him to go next month and would rather let him go0 for nothing, which isn’t the best idea in the world as they need some financial gain form a player that’s rated one of Europe’s best
