There haven’t been many players this season that we can be proud of and although he has dropped his level just a little bit in recent weeks, Santi Cazorla has been one of the clubs top performers in an under-achieving team.
Cazorla has fitted into the Gunners line-up perfectly and is beginning to gel with Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere in the centre of the park, it has just been a shame that they have been let down by some many of their team-mates. And Cazorla has come out and stated that his team have not been mature enough in games, which has cost them so many points with all the goals they have conceded.
The midfielder has become frustrated at the number of times we have lost the lead when the win was there for the taking and he has ‘vowed to help put that right’.
Speaking to Sky Sports he said: “We haven’t been consistent.
“There have been games where we haven’t been mature enough as a team and haven’t held onto the positive results. We are hoping to make up some ground.”
Unfortunately the Spaniard needs ten more players to help him make his words and attitude work. He cannot do it by himself, he isn’t Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, he will need the rest of the lads to pull together and try to pull out some results.
However, apart from a select few there isn’t enough quality at the club to make ground on the top teams, we are lacking quality in vital areas and that is down to Arsene Wengers policy of buying young talents, or useless players.
Though I admire his determination to turn things around, it will take more than him to help solve the clubs problems.
