With Arsene Wenger admitting that he is looking to add one more striker to the squad in the next few days, rumours have emerged which suggest he will make one final move to try and bring Barcelona’s David Villa to the Emirates.
We have been long-time admirers of the brilliant little Spaniard and all indications were in our favour over a possible move, and considering he has reportedly told Barca he wants a move in this window, there will surely be some kind of bod from the French boss.
And even though he saw Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott find the net one more at the weekend against Brighton, they are our only two strikers and we are in need of adding.
As quoted in the Metro, he was asked if he intends to sign a new striker in the coming days and he said: “Quality-wise, no. But number-wise we are maybe a bit short.
“It will not be easy, though, because you do not find strikers who are good enough to play for us on the street.”
Wenger has constantly been stating he has been working hard to try and bring in new faces to the squad and has also revealed he will be buying. So with the window coming to a close, this is his time to back up the words he has been preaching in the last few weeks.
Villa is quality, relatively cheap and would be a brilliant addition to the squad.
