Arsene Wenger calls for change in loaning rules on players.

So going through the articles today, and this one has hit me from eyefootball.com, which if true is certainly Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger seemingly contradicting himself – no that would never happen would it, it is claiming that Arsene Wenger would like to see a rule come in place which would stop the loaning of players over the age of 21, sorry Arsene how old is Yossi Benayoun again?

In a move that seemingly seems to point to Former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor according to the Article, who it seems is enjoying a hugely successful loan spell at Tottenham, from Manchester City, in what would certainly be a bizarre move after Wenger has on a few occasions loaned his players who are over that age limit, and has had loan signings such as Julio Baptiste who was over 21 from Real Madrid in a loan swap that involved Jose Antonio Reyes.

Speaking on what he would like to see implemented Arsene Wenger said:

“Personally, I would not ban players on loan from playing against their own clubs,”

“What I would like to see in the Premier League is that you are not allowed to loan players over the age of 21.”

“At the moment it is an opportunity for some clubs to reinforce other teams, without losing ownership of the player.”

“For example, if a big club sends a big player to another club in the Premier League on loan, they only have benefits.”

“That player cannot face his own club, yet he could win games against their rivals.”

“Therefore, I think it would be better if players over 21 didn’t go on loan in the top league.”

I’m sorry Arsene but didn’t you get the loan signing of a 31 year old Yossi Benayoun at the end of the transfer window last August, I wonder what he’d be making of your remarks today as he’s with Arsenal until the end of the season!

AW must concentrate on our shit team; just take a look at our position on the league; even far behind the white shiiiiiiiit lane.

On the Benayoun loan move: AW plays by the rules that are set, however that does not necessarily imply he agrees with them. When everyone else is eating the cake, you wouldn’t want to miss out just because you like cupcakes better. I know, legendary metaphor.
