Hear me out before you all jump down my throat and question my sanity.
We are almost certain to grab third spot and gain automatic qualification to next seasons Champions League, that will then mean that the 4th spot is between The Spuds, Chelski and Newcastle.
Now, Newcastle collapsed big time against Wigan yesterday, they still have to play Chelski and Man City and the likelihood is that they will not finish in the top four, especially if City end up beating Man Utd tomorrow night.
Of course Newcastle could stun us all and win both those games, I somehow do not think that will happen and that really does leave the door open for Tottenham, though with them who knows.
Chelski just have too many big games ahead of them and I cannot see them winning all their games and when one looks at the run ins of Spurs, Newcastle and Chelski, coupled with the goal difference and table position, it really does look like 4th will go to Spurs.
So, lets assume that Spurs do make 4th, the question is, who would we like to qualify for the Champions League, Tottenham via 4th or Chelski as Champions League winners?
Not an easy one to call, because I despise Chelski, but and it is a big but, I do not want Tottenham to qualify, qualification for them will secure their future and their players futures at white hart lane, if they don’t qualify, then a mass exodus is expected and that for me is just perfect.
Now I have rambled a bit here, struggling to put in to print what I exactly mean, but I am sure that my fellow Gooners understand the point I am making and it is this.
If Tottenham finish 4th, I will support Chelski against Bayern Munich, now I will go and wash my mouth out.

Your post is a few weeks too early that is why you battled to make sense. You do make sense though. However there are still too many possibilities. For instance, We could lose all our remainng matches. Which might not be probable but a possibility. In which case we could end up in 4th and supporting Bayern for dear life. This league is full of surprises. We 3 more surprises to content with. I am happy with the stoke point. It could have been worse.
Wat a load full of shit… its all negative tactics.. wat u dont understand that if Chelsea finish champions, we need to go thru playoffs… forget abt wt happens to spurs players but surely no famous name will come to Emirates..
If that is not enough lets look at the next season, in long term chelsea is main rival, totters just had a one off season and that too cause we had a bad season. if chelsea win, they will attract more big names, and as it is they have more money will have more credibility and will it be gud for us…
as for spurs their manager si as it is leaving, and any big names wont wanna go to this club.

Think the best scenario is we finish 3rd, chelski to loose the final, Newcastle to finish 4th, Chelski 5th and Spuds 6th with mass exit of players ……………………Perfect FOREVER GOONER
I had the same thoughts. However I wish that Newcastle beats tottenham for fourth spot. And Chelsea wins the champions league so that Newcastle gets european footbal and tottenham gets NOTHING
I want Newcastle in the champions league so I’m going for beyern Munich, they are on their own turf plus the occasion, they will win. Chelsea won’t have terry so their defence will be shockingly bad.
Plus 3rd place is ours to loose we just need to get good results in our next 2 games
I hate to say it but Id rather the spuds qualify. They’re no threat to us going forward.
If chelski dont make it next year they are seriously in the sh#t. They’re already struggling to qualify for the new fair play rules, and without CL money it will be even harder. They need new blood and without being allowed to spend the cash and no CL to look forward to what players will join them? They almost missed out on Cahill by not offering the wages they used to pay. Without CL they will be in the sh#t big time.
This final could be the last we see of chelsea in the CL, ever. FUcking beautiful.
Let’s just all hope Newcastle pull a rabbit out the hat anyway. At least they, (and begrudgingly I have to admit, p#urs) would have earned their place, not bought it.

All this assuming we get max points from our last 2 games. I’d like a draw Chavs vs Toon and for Citeh to beat Toon. That’s Toon and Chavs out the way. Spurs could win all 4 as their run in isn’t too difficult. So we MUST win the last two.
Our permutations is only because we are scared if our club will buy quality players at the end of the season otherwise what is our business if the Spuds, Chelki or New Cassle loose, die or jump into Atlantic or Mediteranian. If we were able to extinguish the billionaires from Manchester with their “world class” manager, then WHO and WHICH ant from London will be able to face us?
Let’s not assume a CL place is a given for us. The team hasn’t done well recently and we can find ourselves fighting for 4th. I also agree with the other poster who said that if Chelsea don’t get a spot next season, it will be interesting times indeed at the Bridge.
It’s too early to comment. How cud u said we r comfortably in a driving seat for 3rdspot yet struggled to get a point in stoke. As a true gonner fan, my prayers n focus will entirely on arsenal for d remaining 2 games not bothered who wins CL or 4thpot…
Am i the only one who is worried about us needing to win our next 2 games? Wish i could be as certain as you lot. Form is key. A team that is winning and beating the likes of Barca and beating QPR 6-1 will beleive they can win every game, especially if, when it comes to the prem, they thought they were already out of it. 3rd spot is ours to lose. We HAVE to get 6 points from the next 2 games. Arsenal play best when they know they have to win. Lets hope Norwich and West Brom are already thinking of their summer holidays, coz chelsea are flying
