Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, could be set to miss the remainder of this season due to a setback in his injury recovery Arsenal have revealed, although Arsenal FC has yet to confirm this, as they have sent Wilshere off to another specialist to asses the damage and for some sort of time scale that his set back could bring, if it is as fears and it is the rest of the season, it will be a huge blow for the club’s campaign which has stuttered in recent weeks, which threatens to ruin their Champions League place.
Jack Wilshere has missed the entire season so far, due to the injury which was a stress fracture to his ankle and, this setback will be a huge blow to himself also as it threatens to ruin his chances with England in the 2012 European Championships, and reports from the Guardian suggest that this setback will see the young midfielder miss the rest of the campaign.
Arsene Wenger confirmed today, in a press conference about this setback, and has suggested that his rehabilitation period is of yet unknown:
“Wilshere had a little setback. We are investigating it at the moment and don’t know how bad it is.”
“He sees a specialist today. He has pain again in his ankle.”
“We stopped him straight away. He did it running.”
“I can’t give you any news on Jack because I could be wrong.”
Let’s just hope this report from the Guardian is false, given that Arsene Wenger hasn’t brought in a covering midfielder to boost the clubs midfield, and give it some much needed creativity that it has lacked all season, if it is confirmed then it is going to be very long harsh season for the remainder I feel.
