Gunners behind City, United and Chelsea in odds for new season

After suffering a frustrating time in the transfer market having only added Granit Xhaka and young defender Rob Holding to their ranks that finished in second place in last season’s Premier League table, it is little wonder that Arsenal find themselves as outsiders for the title in the betting tips from bookmakers. The likes of Manchester duo City and United, along with London rivals Chelsea are seen as favourites for the title, with Arsene Wenger facing the added challenge of overcoming Pep Guardiola, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte in his bid to win a first title since 2004.

Arsenal take on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in their opening fixture following a successful pre-season campaign, and with an exclusive betting tip from Bookies.com, backing the Gunners for victory could well prove fruitful. However, having only recently returned to action following their exploits over the summer, Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey face a race against time to prove their match fitness. Ramsey, along with the injured Jack Wilshere are at risk of missing the game at The Emirates, with Mohamed Elneny and Xhaka expected to deputise in their absence.

Having been frustrated in his attempts to sign Gonzalo Higuain and Jamie Vardy, Wenger seemingly understands more than anyone Arsenal’s need for additional attacking options. With negotiations reportedly continuing for French forward Alexandre Lacazette, with Lyon believed to be finally open to the sale of their most prized asset. Despite other clubs across Europe being interested in the 25-year-old, Arsenal are the favourites in the betting tips at Bookies.com to sign the man who scored 21 goals in Ligue 1 last season. Lacazette was taken off shortly after half time during his sides French Super Cup defeat to champions PSG recently.

Following his struggles throughout last season, which included a fourteen match goal scoring drought, Olivier Giroud is also among the outsiders for this season’s golden boot award. Bookies.com offer rivals Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy as the favourites in their betting tips for the season.
