Lukas Podolski is not short of confidence about Arsenal prospects

Arsenal new recruit Lukas Podolski is confident that his club will challenge for the title this term and is looking forward to scoring as many goals as possible.

The 27-year-old insists that English Premier League is a competitive league and there are five or six teams who are good enough to challenge for the honours, and he considers Arsenal to be one of them.

Silverware is what eluded Arsenal for seven long years, and Wenger is looking to end that drought this season. He has already added quality players like Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla and hopes to add few more before the season begins.

Arsenal had been rocked by the bombshell dropped by skipper Robin van Persie in early July when he declared that he won’t be renewing his new contract.

Old Trafford will probably the likely destination for the 29-year-old Dutchman, and Wenger would definitely like to spend the money in bolstering the squad.

“The Premier League has five or six teams who can play for the title – and we are one of them. We really want to win this trophy.” Podolski said while speaking to the reporters.

“I hope I can score a lot of goals and make some assists to help the club in the Premier League.”
