It’s up to Theo Walcott to decide. The impasse surrounding his contract situation has taken many twists and turns throughout the summer. Now with two days remaining before the transfer window closes, both the parties have landed in a sort of imposition.
The future of Walcott is already well documented along with ex-skipper Robin van Persies’ throughout the summer. Like the Dutchman, he too had only a year left in his contract. But unlike his skipper, he was not rebellion, instead always believed that his problems will be sorted out sooner or later.
Arsenal have now offered him a five year deal with a pay package of £75,000 per week. This has left the 23-year-old frustrated, as he wants a figure in the region of 90k per week, which Arsenal are unwilling to provide him right now.
Arsene Wenger has made it clear, that ‘either you take this’ or ‘else your departure will be sanctioned’. The club certainly cannot afford to lose a player of Walcott’s calibre for free, do they?
Even then, if he is allowed to leave, it will be frustrating to watch to see another top player from Arsenal leaving the club in one single summer. Despite purchasing Olivier Giroud, Lukas Podolski and Santi Cazorla, the club has also sold two very good players. And the former Southampton player can follow the same trajectory too.
Liverpool and Manchester City are eager to capture his signature. Arsenal value him around £12m-£15m. The club probably is in a position to sell him and academy prospect Serge Gnabry, 17, will be fast-tracked into the senior squad.

I dont see what is frustrating. theo thinks he is worth more than he is. so we will see how much he is worth over the.next 3 days. personally i think its about 15m and 75k a week. i am sure that man city will offer a bit more and he will be gone. even chelsea might come in with an offer of sturridge plus 5m which again is a good offer. just a shame we missed out on adam johnson. but if we can take the sturridge deal then give the 5m plus bendtner to swansea then i will take those 2 homegrown players for our 2 homegrown players. theo and bendtner will be found out where ever tbey go whilst sinclair sturridge gervinho rosicky would be an excellent front 4 option as back up to chamberlain cazorla podolski giroud. then its a simple matter of using any cash we have left plus what we can make from the sales of squillaci park arshavin and chamakh to strengthen the defensive side of the team with the likes of yang-mbwia mvila capoue cabaye tiote rangel vanderweil strootman sakho all in the frame. a couple of youngsters like isco and shaw to add depth to the under 21 options would be a bonus to replace the likes of watt and eastmond.
Walcott, Walcott, Walcott. Why can’t he first up his game before asking for the kind of money he’s asking for?
I dare say that Walcott’s current weekly earnings is fair when compared with his largely inconsistent performances. Now he is being offered 75k/week without any guarantee that he’ll improve beyond his present level.
I wish theo will stay in arsenal though his consistency is matter. if not we donot worry ox or czorola can replace
