Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has expressed his desire to bring new faces at the club and is hoping to make at least two more signings before the transfer window closes.
After the departure of Alex Song to Barcelona, Wenger admitted the need of drafting in a midfielder, with Nuri Sahin is tipped to join the Gunners from Real Madrid on loan.
However, the deal has yet to materialize as Arsenal are seeking to make the move permanent after his season long loan gets over, while Real Madrid refusing to entertain that proposition.
Wenger is also looking forward to adding a new defender to his ranks. Defender Bacary Sagna and Laurent Koscielny are both side-lined due to injury, and the boss feels there is a shortage of cover in defence, especially at the right back.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Wenger said “We are looking to bring one more midfielder in of course, and maybe one defender as well because we still feel we are short in some positions”
