Arsenal target and FC Basel star Aleksander Dragovic wants a move to the Premier League in the summer window
We have been scouring the planet to try and find the best centre-backs to bring in and shore up our very leaky defence, which at times looks like it couldn’t defend against even the worst of teams.
And boss Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of Dragovic having followed the towering centre back ever since he joined Basel in 2011.
So he has reportedly sent chief scout Steve Rowley to watch the Basel defender on a number of occasions so he can get a closer look at the 22-year old.
And after Wenger confirmed his interest last month, Dragovic has come out and revealed that he wants a move to the English top flight and impress like fellow countrymen Andreas Weimann.
As quoted on the Sky Sports website, he said: “I regular speak to Andreas, who has told me a lot about how much he enjoys playing in England.
“Its competition at the highest level, which is what I’m looking for.
“The fans are fantastic, and the clubs command a lot of respect around the world.”
The defender is earning a real reputation for himself and is surely on his way to a bigger club in the summer window, with us a very real possibility.
