Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has quashed all the rumours surrounding Yann M’Vila saying he is not looking to buy any defensive midfielder at the moment.
The 22-year-old Rennes midfielder is one of the brightest prospects in the world and has already bagged 22 international caps for France.
He completed another impressive season last term and caught the attention of many top clubs in Europe. The midfielder was linked with Arsenal on more than one occasions but Wenger feels he has adequate cover for that role where the Amiens born player usually plays.
Arsenal already have Jack Wilshere in their ranks who didn’t play a single game last season. His return will be seen as like a new signing altogether. Also, players like Alex Song and Abou Diaby are capable enough to handle that position.
Diaby who missed a lot of games last season due to injury can be a handful addition if he stays healthy for major part of the season.
Further, Wenger has to consider the future of skipper Robin van Persie. If the talisman leaves finally, then a defensive midfielder would not be an ideal option to vacate such role.
