Should Fabianski leave Arsenal? probably

A question that’s been on mind since Mannone started Tuesday’s Champions League game is what now happens to Lukasz Fabianski? Brought in as an original long term successor for Jens Lehmann, Lukasz Fabianski is currently injured and suffering the consequences of his absence by observing the potential dissipation of his Arsenal career. With the absence of Szczesny, Mannone has been called up as second choice, leaving Fabianski out of the picture altogether.

Mannone has shined in goal. Some nervy moments tried to dull that but overall, the Italian hasn’t done anything to suggest that he doesn’t deserve to be there. Obviously, if Szczesny had remained fit, we wouldn’t be having this discussion now but fate has a funny way of saying something sometimes. Is Szczesney’s time as first choice over and perhaps more intriguing, at least to me, is Fabianski out of the Arsenal setup?

At 27 years of age, Fabianski isn’t young. I understand that keepers generally have longer careers than most players but at his age, being a third choice just simply isn’t good enough. The Pole already has stiff competition for International caps, given that his teammate is regarded as the better player but should he also move on from Arsenal?
Being injury prone isn’t Fabianski’s greatest weakness but rather his decisiveness. He’s relatively good at stopping the ball, he’s agile in the air and his reactions are fantastic but come a set piece, corner or any player venturing into the box, the Pole either freezes up or comes rushing off his line.

Personally, with the way Mannone is playing, I feel Fabianski has no chance of getting even a start in a less important game. Add that to the number of young up and coming keepers we have and I’d have to say, the Pole should move on. Not an easy decision but probably in the best interests of everyone involved.

  • Why should he leave,He should work harder and reclaim his position. This is a competative game. So let him fight and reclaim the No. 1 position which was being dangled for him. Work hard Man.

Please, stop these pretentious articles. No one asked you to pontificate about that kind of things. Who stays or goes is managers business. NOT YOURS.
I love pepole who love their club and supports through the thick and thin. Many Gooners appear to be fair weather friends who easily turn their back as soon as a difficult is experienced and that is sad. More annoying however, is the articles like these coz they do nothing about strengthening morale.
