Arsenal are monitoring the situation of Spaniard Adrian Lopez and will be pouncing on every opportunity to sign him as his contract situation at Atletico Madrid has been stalled.
The 24-year-old was signed on a free transfer last season. The Spanish international joined on a four-year-contract and formed a formidable strike partnership with Colombian international Radamel Falcao.
The striker made 55 appearances for the club last season in all competitions and has bagged 19 goals to his name.
His impressive performances in the debut season has caught the eye of several English and European clubs but the Spanish outfit has resisted all temptations and has offered the striker a fresh new deal instead.
However, it has been understood that he is not happy with the terms and conditions of the deal and has yet to put pen to paper, thereby intensifying the speculation that he might depart soon.
Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have shown interest in the player before, but Los Rojiblancos insists any suitors would have to meet his buy-out clause of £14.4m to get his signature.
