Theo Walcott: Arsenal players must back Arsene Wenger

So after the last three straight defeats including the previous game against Manchester United, the pressure is on Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, like never before he has faced untold scrutiny in the past few weeks from the media, pundits, critics and of course not to mention the fans, who showed their frustration in the game against Manchester United.

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott has urged his fellow team mates to help relieve the pressure off from Arsene Wenger, and to end their poor run of three consecutive defeats in the Premier League, as Theo Walcott has conceded that, they should take their fair share of the blame of the results that has now put Arsenal’s Champions League hopes for next season at a standstill.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, faced a huge fan revolt at the Emirates last weekend when large sections of the stadium, booed his decision to substitute Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain for Andrei Arshavin, in a move that not long after cost Arsenal the game, with substitute Arshavin, who made a huge costly error which led to United’s winner.

Speaking of the need for the club to pull together now, and ease the pressure of of Arsene Wenger Theo Walcott told reporters:

“The manager will take all the stick,”

“He looks after us. He believes in us.”

“As players we need to look at ourselves. We need to take responsibility. The last few games haven’t been good enough.”

“The worst thing is we have a lot of regrets. There are games we could have won. When you go to Swansea and score two goals you should win.”

“We always like to reflect on the game in the dressing room, even at half-time, sharing our feelings on the game,” he said. “Robin is a great captain who wants to win. He believes in the team and knows the team can do better.”

Agree with Eddie, this is just pandering nonsense. The team can’t win anything, it will be a miracle if they reach top four, can’t see it happening though as they really don’t deserve.
