There has been so much speculation in recent months over the possible destination of Theo Walcott that he has been in the media daily, but manager Arsene Wenger believes his striker is poised to end the uncertainty regarding his future by signing a new contract.
With the England star out on contract in the summer, there was a chance that we lost him for absolutely nothing at the end of the season and nobody at the club wanted that to happen since he is one of the clubs best players.
Discussions regarding a new deal have dragged on for some time, but this time around negotiations seem to be going better as both parties are eager to get a deal done.
It has taken longer than both sides would have liked for a compromise to be reached, but it would appear as though Walcott is set to put pen to paper on a lucrative new deal.
Reports have suggested he is set to sign a new three-and-a-half-year deal worth around £100,000-a-week.
Speaking to Sky Sports Wenger said: “Let’s first try and finish the deal and see what we can do from there.
“I hope it will be soon. Very, very soon now.”
Wenger will continue to put all of his efforts into convincing Walcott to commit his future to Arsenal before dipping into the January transfer market.
Walcott is the clubs top scorer, but has failed to find the net in recent times and there have been calls that we need to buy a new striker in the next few weeks.
The news of a new deal will surely be what most fans want to hear, but the length on the contract is strange because if the reports are true, then we will have to go through all this again in just eighteen months’ time.

If Arsenal are going to pay Walcott,

if it is true,JACK’S worth double
that,Wenger has completely lost it.
The deal is done. Arsenal as a club will reveal this as near to the end of the month as possible, so as to smother a potential fan uprising at Wengers lack of transfer activity in the January transfer window.
