Wenger gives his opinion on Mario Balotelli escaping a ban for Song tackle

Arsene Wenger has admitted that he does not understand why Mario Balotelli escaped punishment for the tackle on Alex Song while QPR captain Shaun Derry must serve a ban for a far less violent tackle against Ashley Young in the Man Utd v QPR clash.

He said: ‘I don’t still understand well. If you look at, for example, the case of Balotelli, okay you get an explanation and okay you have to accept it.

‘If you look at the case of Derry and think okay you can accept it.

‘But if you put the two together it looks absolutely unbelievable that one is suspended and the other isn’t.

‘But when the ref has seen something, no-one can get over the rule. I think we should have an exceptional committee of ethics to get over that.

‘The global situation does not make sense. For people who love football, it is difficult to understand why one is not punished at all and the other one is punished.

‘I’m not keen to get Balotelli suspended but for football fans it is difficult to understand.’

It is indeed a ridiculous situation and very unfair and to just sit back and say, that’s the way it is, is simply wrong, Wenger is right to admit he cannot understand it, not many can.

I have seen a player have been tackle but referee did not going to give card but when he come near to the player and found out the leg was broken he quickly sent off the player.. so I guess in the modern game players need to have broke leg to convince the reff!

It is just not possible for any referee to see that challenge and honestly call it fair. There is foul play here and not only by Balotelli.

Has Atkinson said yet why no action was taken against Ballotelli on Sunday when he or his assistants claim to have seen the assault on Alex Song?
Somebody should be held to account of Ballotelli isn’t

you have god damn video replay

The referees have been highly inconsistent. I think there should be a process to retrieve points like the clearly two offside goals by chelsea against a club that is been threatened by relegation. The three points are extremely vital and the referee’s bad decisions can cause the team to be relegated

This is proof that the game is well and truly screwed in the hands of old men who have only interest in lining their pockets.

Song is a lucky man to have an intact leg. Young is a lucky man for winning an oscar for play-acting.

The FA are just corrupt and farcical. But hey! what the fu@c can we supporters do about it? Just wait till the revolution and bury the swine.
