Barcelona winger Ibrahim Afellay has been linked with a move to Arsenal yet again.
The versatile winger can play in a central midfield role and was linked with the Gunners two years back. Wenger looking to add quality midfielders in his side is contemplating making a bid for the Dutch winger.
Afellay’s agent, Rob Jansen is aware of Arsenal’s interest and is not ruling out any possibility for a potent move.
Barcelona was not actively looking to sell their prized asset. However, the Catalans have made Javi Martinez as their primary target this summer and may sell the winger to raise money for the Bilbao midfielder.
A loan deal is also a possibility but if any good offer comes in way Barcelona would not oppose the move. Wenger is looking to take this as an opportunity in bringing the highly talented winger at the Emirates and reports suggested that Arsenal need to pay 6M Euros only to secure his signature.
Afellay endured a frustrating season last term, appearing only five times for the Blaugrana due to injury. He was included in the Dutch squad but failed to impress as Netherlands crushed out of the group stages at the Euro 2012.
