The Mirror are today reporting that Arsene Wenger has renewed his interest in young German play maker Mario Gotze as he looks to spend the remaining Cesc Fabregas money.
Mario Gotze’s stock has continued to rise in the last year and Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer of the 19 year old attacking midfielder and it appears a bid could be tabled in January.
His current club Borussia Dortmund who have invested heavily in Youth in the last few seasons have so far knocked back any attempt from European club’s to sign the young German who is seen as an integral part of the way Dortmund play.
Arsenal Fan’s have had the chance to see a bit more this season as Dortmund currently lie Bottom of Group F, having drawn with the Gunner’s in Germany.
Whilst Dortmund won the German Bundesliga last term, they will have to provide Gotze with some form of reassurance that they will continue to challenge for Honours both home and abroad but due to their performances in the Champions League it is thought that Gotze’s move to another European club may be sooner rather than later.
It does remain to be seen that if Arsenal do step up interest in the player whether Gotze will actually shine in the Premier League which is a tougher test than German football.
One thing is for certain, this potential signing has Gunner fan’s currently licking their lips in anticipation as Gotze is definitely a future world class player.
