Robin van Persie has indicated that he prefers a move to Italian Serie A with champions Juventus.
According to The Independent The 29-year-old Dutchman has publicly made it clear in early July that he won’t be renewing his present contract. He has been reported chased by two Manchester clubs along with Juventus, and of the three he prefers the Italian giants as his first priority.
Juventus have been struggling with their own parlous financial condition as they posted a loss of £75M in the financial year of 2010-11. In such a situation, like all other top European clubs, Juventus are trying to book their balance to comply with the rules of Financial Fair Play.
Arsene Wenger will be willing to listen to any offers ranging between £20M to £25M as the skipper has only one year left in his present contract. It is to be seen that whether the Old Lady can come up with a lucrative offer (5 years deal with an expected wage of minimum £120,000) to capture his signature.
The Italians were also heavily linked to land Napoli striker Edinson Cavani this summer but so far it hasn’t materialized.
The Gunners are not really willing to sell him to any Premier League rival clubs, especially to Manchester City. However, if money comes as a big factor in deciding the transfer, then City would be the only possible destination for this maverick striker of Arsenal.
